
Accounting Associate (Bookkeeper)
Job Summary
We are looking to hire a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Associate (Bookkeeper) to assist with maintaining the financial records of our clients by accurately recording the day to day financial transactions of the company.
To do well in this role you should have previous experience as a Bookkeeper and be confident in using accounting software. You should have in-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles. You will be working under the direct supervision of a Senior Accountant. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information is a must for this job position.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Processing client payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases

Preparing basic client financial reports showing business income and expenditure

Tracking bank account and cash balances

Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Senior Accountant of errors

Recording any inconsistencies to help the Senior Accountant reconcile inaccuracies

Assist in developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets

Preparing employee payroll information

Managing employee expense claims

Helping the Senior Accountant with other administrative duties as required
Required Skills/Abilities:

Associate's degree in accounting or business administration.

Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles.

Knowledge and experience of a range of accounting software such as SAGE, Quickbooks, Wave or Zoho.

Ability to manage multiple bookkeeping projects

At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a business-services environment.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Attention to detail and accuracy of work.

Strong numeracy and analytical skills.

Good problem-solving and time management skills.

Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement.
Proposed Compensation:
-
₦60,000 per month (net)
Terms & Conditions:

This is a full-time, remote role
-
Full-time employees are subject to a probationary period of up to 6 weeks and contract may be terminated within this time if performance is deemed unsatisfactory.

Paid annual leave benefits for full-time employees are no more than:

20 days paid annual leave,
-
5 days paid sick leave
-
3 days bereavement leave.
