Accounting Senior Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The Accounting Supervisor's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
To be successful as a Accounting Supervisor, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Accounting Supervisor should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations

Participate in regular tax audits and payroll

Prepare budgeting reports and forecast revenues
Manage month-end and year-end closing
Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company’s targets
Ensure compliance with the law -
Preparing monthly financial statements that include cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.

Complete end of month close procedures.

Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.

Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.

Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.

Assisting with annual audit preparations.

Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.

Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal and state regulations.

Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.

Prepare corporate reporting requirements.

Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.

Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.

Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Senior Accountant Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required (essential).

3+ years of accounting experience (essential).

ACCA or ACA qualified (advantageous).

Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.

Strong financial analysis skills.
-
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong organizational and stress management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.

Ability to train and manage staff.

Ability to work with little to no supervision.

Must have a working laptop and able to work remotely
Proposed Compensation:
-
₦100,000 per month (net, after probation)
Terms & Conditions:

This is a full-time role to be performed, largely remotely.
-
Full-time employees are subject to a probationary period of up to 6 weeks and contract may be terminated within this time if performance is deemed unsatisfactory.

Paid annual leave benefits for full-time employees are no more than:

20 days paid annual leave,
-
5 days paid sick leave
-
3 days bereavement leave.

NB. Paid maternity leave will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
