Accountant
Job Summary
As a Multi-Client Accountant at Charles Ardor & Company, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of a diverse portfolio of clients (approx. 3-4 clients), ensuring compliance with accounting principles and best practices thereby playing a crucial role in providing accurate and timely financial reports. Succeeding in this role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and a high level of attention to detail. You will work in a collaborative team environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions and reporting.
NB. This is a hybrid role with a strong remote component, allowing you to work from your preferred location in Abuja, Nigeria
Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement:

Establish and maintain professional relationships with multiple clients.

Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.

Bookkeeping Services:

Maintain and update financial records for clients using various accounting software platforms (e.g., Zoho QuickBooks, Xero).

Record financial transactions, including income, expenses, and payroll.

Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.

Financial Reporting:

Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Provide analysis and insights into the financial performance of clients.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for clients, processing invoices and payments.

Ensure timely collection of receivables and prompt payment of payables.

Payroll Processing:

Prepare and process payroll for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

Submit payroll tax filings and reports as required.

Financial Analysis:

Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.

Compliance and Taxation:

Ensure that clients' financial records comply with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Assist in the preparation of necessary tax documents and filings.

Problem Resolution:

Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

Assist clients with financial questions and concerns.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

Maintain organized and complete records of financial transactions and client communication.

Continual Professional Development:

Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
-
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably in an outsourced accounting or similar environment.

3 years minimum experience (post-NYSC)

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Zoho, QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.

Strong understanding of financial principles, tax regulations, and compliance.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Professional certification (e.g. ACCA, ACA) is a plus.

Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Must have a working laptop and able to work remotely
Working Conditions:
-
This role is primarily remote with requirements to be office-based at least twice a week.
-
Work hours are primarily between 9am - 6pm but flexibility is required based on client needs and deadlines.
Compensation:
-
₦120,000 per month (net) with ACA or ACCA certification AND requisite experience OR;
-
₦100,000 per month (net) with requisite experience BUT no ACA or ACCA certification
The Multi-Client Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the financial success of our diverse client base. By providing accurate and efficient bookkeeping & accounting services, you contribute to our clients' growth and financial well-being while adhering to regulatory compliance and accounting standards.
Terms & Conditions:

Full-time employees are subject to a probationary period of up to 3 weeks and contract may be terminated without pay within this time if performance is deemed unsatisfactory.

Paid annual leave benefits for full-time employees are no more than:

20 days paid annual leave,
-
5 days paid sick leave
-
3 days bereavement leave.
